Julie Gugenheim

Julie has been practicing law for over 30 years.  In 1987, Julie graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. In 1991, Julie earned her Juris Doctorate from Samford University, Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama. Following law school, Julie and Steve moved to Dallas, Texas. For almost five years, Julie worked for the Denton County District Attorney’s Office as an Assistant District Attorney. During her tenure, Julie tried over 50 misdemeanor and felony jury trials.  After gaining invaluable trial experience, Julie left the District Attorney’s office and began working for Allstate Insurance Company as a Senior Trial Attorney. Julie honed her trial skills by defending individuals in cases involving serious personal injury. While at Allstate, Julie successfully defended over 24 civil trials. In 2000, when Steve and Julie relocated to North Carolina to be close to family, Julie continued her defense career with the Raleigh law firm Teague Campbell Dennis & Gorham. At the firm, Julie defended individuals in cases involving serious personal injury. After the birth of their son in 2001 and due to the growing demands of Gugenheim Law, in 2003, Julie joined Gugenheim Law. Since joining Gugenheim Law, Julie and Steve have successfully tried numerous cases involving nursing home negligence and assisted living facility negligence. Julie is a Certified Superior Court mediator and has spoken on the topics of trial tactics, the effective use of negotiation, and the effective use of voir dire. In her spare time, Julie enjoys adventure travel with her family, running, hiking, and reading.
